I've been looking around the internet for agents' websites, doing a little research in the wee hours of the morning. Many agencies accept only established authors or those referred to them by other agents or established authors.
Not very encouraging.
But I'll keep sneaking through the forest in search of wabbits.

I'm sure there are some out there. Have you checked the local bars. I understand many agents hang out in bars. Silwy Wabbits. Pappy
Would those "wabbits" be 'wasscoalie'?
Good luck! Networking IS hard, no doubt about that. Have you considered going without an agent, or is that the literary equivalent of hanging at the Hollywood drugstore hoping to meet a producer?
Tex - As funny as he can be, I'm no Doug Kelley. He once told me he thinks his first novel sounded so good to the agent because the guy had consumed a bit. I'll try a more conventional route.
Strider - As wascally as they come!
Jade - I'm going to try venues that don't require agents, but it's always good to have someone in your corner.
